On this page we’ve answered some of the most popular questions we get asked.  If there’s something else you would like to discuss then please get in touch via our Contact Form.

+ How much does it cost to book Coverland?

Please contact us for a quote. Our costs depend on a number of factors including travel times and peak dates. Our prices are very competitive so please get in touch!

+ Can I come and see the band at a show before I book?

We do understand that it's nice to watch the band live before you book but unfortunately Coverland don't play any public gigs at all. However, we are happy to provide you with references that will give you peace of mind that we are completely professional, experienced in every type of event and very accommodating.

+ How much deposit do you require?

A deposit payment is worked out based on what package you book. Don't worry, we promise it won't break the bank!

+ What happens if I need to cancel?

In the event of cancellation the following applies:

  • There is no refund of the deposit in any instance.
  • Cancellation more than 24 weeks prior to event – no additional charge.
  • Cancellation within 24 weeks of the event – you would be required to pay 100% of the remaining fee.

As much as we understand that the cancellation of your event can be a stressful/expensive situation these conditions are strictly non-negotiable. If you intend to reschedule/postpone your event then please get in touch ASAP so that further arrangements can be made.

+ How long do you play for?

Usually we do 2 x 60 minute sets with a couple of extra tracks squeezed in depending on the venue’s curfew. If you require a longer set performance then an additional cost will apply.

+ What’s the line up?

Coverland are a 4 piece band consisting of a male lead vocalist, lead guitar, bass and drums. We also supplememt our sound with high quality professional playback tracks.

+ How experienced are Coverland?

Coverland have a vast amount of experience and collectively have been filling dance-floors for over 10 years. For consecutive years we have WON awards in the category of 'Best Entertainment' at The Welsh National Wedding Awards.

+ What kind of music do Coverland play?

We have a large and ever-expanding repertoire of songs and we work very hard on using our experience to select the best tracks for a great set list for each of our events. From kids skidding across the floor, your work mates, Dad and his embarrassing dance to Nan and Gramps, we’ve got it covered!

+ Can we choose our own songs for you to play?

We always welcome your suggestions on what songs to play on the night and if we have time, we will even try our best to learn a request or two, but we wouldn't expect you to go through our entire repertoire and handpick the set list yourself. I mean, that's what you're paying us for right?

The songs that we have listed have been tried and tested and we've played them regularly over the last couple of years. By doing this we are accustomed to "working out" a crowd fairly early on in the evening and cater to this by playing songs we think would go down best.

Obviously, if there are songs on our list you 100% would NOT like us to play then that's fair enough, please let us know and we'll make sure they're not included.

Don't worry, you're in safe hands!

NB - During peak wedding season we have a very busy schedule and unfortunately we are unable to learn song requests at short notice. If you REALLY want us to learn something specifically for your occasion you must let us know with plenty of time in advance.

+ Do Coverland have “Public Liability” insurance and PAT certificates?

Yes and copies of these are available upon request.

+ How far do you travel?

We are based in Wales but happy to travel anywhere in the World. Travelling costs will apply.

+ What time will the band arrive?

We will usually arrive and set-up from 17:30 onwards. If you require us to be there earlier please get in touch with us and we will come to an arrangement.

+ What time do the band play their set?

We will always adhere to your schedule on the night but we highly recommend that the band start playing between 9 and 10pm AFTER THE BUFFET. This ensures that everyone is free for the dancefloor. There’s nothing worse for a band than playing upbeat live party music to a line of guests queuing for food!

The band can also be booked to perform at other points throughout your day e.g. acoustic sets whilst guests arrive. Please get in touch for more information about these services and we will be happy to tailor a quote to suit your needs.

+ How much space do the band require?

Ideally we need a minimum space of 5m wide x 4m deep but we can play in smaller spaces. If you’re hiring a stage please feel free to pass on our contact details to the stage hire company.

+ What are the minimum power requirements?

We require at least 2 independent 13 amp sockets. If you're hiring a marquee company, please advise that our PA system and lighting use approximately 5kw and a single 16amp power supply is not sufficient.

+ Will I need to provide any equipment for the band?

Other than a minimum of two power points near the performance area we’ll supply everything else.

+ Will the band play outdoors?

Yes but suitable cover must be provided for the band and all our equipment. We will require access to at least two standard power points.

+ Can you set up in the morning for an evening event?

This would be fine but an extra fee will be applicable.

+ How long do you take to set up and set down?

Loading in and setting up usually takes us an hour depending on how close we can park to the performance area. We will always run through a few numbers for a soundcheck. If the wedding proceedings are running late we will still need an hour. Our set-down and load-out takes around 45 minutes and this is done after our set.

+ When should I book the band?

Please book the band as soon as you can, we are constantly taking bookings and cannot hold any date without a deposit.

+ Will you provide music before and between sets?

Yes. We're more than happy to provide music via an iPod in-between sets. We have a fixed playlist but If you have particular songs in mind, you're also welcome to create your own playlists which can be played through the PA system through a phone or iPod, before, in-between and after the band.

+ Shall I book a Professional DJ as well?

This is entirely up to you and your plans for the night.
As part of your booking, the band will play DJ music playlists before, in-between and after their live sets. You also have the option to plug in your own device (iPod/iPad/Phone) to the band’s PA system, if you prefer? If you have a little left over in your budget, perhaps you’d like to consider upgrading to a Live Band Member DJ. This option means a band member doubles up as a DJ and is always present whilst the music is running, they read the crowd and guests can also request songs on the night! This is by no means essential, as the pre-programmed playlists are also great, but we just wanted to let you know that this additional option is available to you.

+ Are guests allowed to come up on stage and sing, play or dance with Coverland?

As Coverland are a party band we always encourage your guests to dance. Heck, we even dance ourselves! That's why you're booking us right? However, due to the amount of heavy and expensive equipment and cables we use during our show we do not permit guests to join us on stage unless previously arranged and rehearsed prior to the performance e.g. if you want to sing a song to your partner. Your guests are not covered by our insurance policy because they should not be in the stage area at any point during the show. If our performance is disrupted by any unreasonable guests we deem out of our control, we will cease playing with immediate effect and you will still be charged for a full evening's performance. If any damage is caused to the band's equipment and PA system by guests "crashing" the stage then this will be charged directly to you as the booking party. This includes ANY damage to our instruments, amplifiers, cables, speakers and all PA apparatus, microphones and mixing desk. Encourage your guests to be safe, stick to the dancefloor, have a great time and above all have a fun night to remember!

+ Will the band require food and refreshments?

We often leave for the gig at mid-afternoon and won't arrive home unitl the early hours so some hot food and drinks is always highly appreciated. More often than not we are told to "help ourselves" but we do appreciate that on some occasions food is strictly for invited guests and can be very expensive for any additions. On those occasions we would not expect the same standard as your guests meal, but maybe something before we play to keep our energy levels up. If this being the case, it would be great to know in advance so we can make our own arrangements directly with the venue.
